An electric bicycle has many advantages over conventional vehicles. Unlike petrol, diesel or LPG cars and motorbikes, it produces no noise or emissions while traveling and if charged with solar or green power, generates no emissions whatsoever. It is also much more affordable than other vehicles and when used in pedal or pedal assisted mode it improves health and fitness. Ecoriders’ men’s e-bike is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery that provides a maximum speed of 25km/h and a range of 45-55km (with pedal assistance). The battery, which weighs only 2.8kg, can be detached from the bicycle and charged from an ordinary power point in as little as four hours. The lithium ion battery lasts longer than the lead acid batteries of many other electric bicycles, and does not contain toxic lead or corrosive substances. The bicycle can also be ridden as a regular pedal-powered bicycle, ensuring that you will never be stranded, and has 6-class Shimano (TY18) gears.
